Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Job Description Summary 

The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will participate in independently executing technical and/or cross-functional project work for the R&D department. The incumbent will design and solve complex problems related to mechanical, electro-mechanical, thermal, fluidic and/or plastics related. Develop project schedules and drive projects to completion on time. 

Responsibilities: 
• Develop solutions to complex engineering through the use of engineering tools and analysis and application of engineering principles. 
• Apply engineering knowledge and principles in developing engineering solutions. 
• Design, model, build and generate detailed drawings with requisite tolerance analysis 
• Design and qualify components and sub-assemblies relating to mechanical, electrical, and fluidic. 
• Generate and execute test procedures and test reports 
• Closely interface with different vendors and cross functional teams to meet project objectives and milestones 
• Build and test engineering prototypes as required 
• Perform thermal and stress analysis as required 
• Meet project timelines and deliverables. 

Qualifications: 
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years’ experience in Mechanical or Materials Engineering or Master’s Degree and 3 years’ experience (preferred). 
• Demonstrated experience in electro-mechanical product development from concept through production 
• Demonstrated experience in generating test procedures and test reports 
• Experience in FDA-regulated Medical Device or similarly regulated industries preferred. 
• Proficiency in solid modeling software such as SolidWorks and/or ProE 
• Experience using engineering simulation tools such as FEA and CFD 
• GD&T experience with tolerance stack-up analysis. 
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects. 
• Demonstrated written and verbal presentation and communication skills 
• Preferred: DFSS Trained
