Job Description

A Michigan City, IN leading manufacturing company is looking for a General Manager. Ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of operations management experience in the manufacturing industry, P/L duties and managing sales as well as operations. Bachelors degree highly preferred.

The GM directs and coordinates all site activities to achieve facilities’ KPIs based on our Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Employees through direct reports and in a manner that aligns with core values. The GM also directs, arranges or otherwise facilitates non-operational activities to attain business growth, add value to our product, maintain positive employee relations, develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, business partners and the local community, minimize the facility's environmental impact and maintain the physical property and infrastructure.

Responsible for ensuring the company complies with legal requirements relating to safety and environment concerns.
Determine the need for and develop environmental and quality objectives, targets and projects related to the process within the span of control.

Develop, recommend and implement budget and cost controls that support the company financial and EBIT goals.
Establish long-term and annual plans to improve production costs and customer satisfaction in coordination with sales and engineering.

Departmental Management (10%)a.Has authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay-off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, and discipline employees as needed.

Establish departmental objectives and evaluate employee performance regularly at least once a year.

Participate in the Management Review process to evaluate the performance of EQMS.

Lead the Plant operations function.

Develop, monitor and control the department budget.

Logistics and Purchasing
Makes key decisions with regard to scheduling, planning, supply chain management and internal logistics functions as well as inventory control.
Makes key decisions with regard to purchasing materials.
Safety Maintain a safe working environment by identifying and improving areas that are at risk of causing an accident.

Bachelor’s Degree from a College or University.·

5+ years of experience in light manufacturing, cost management/control, planning and budgeting.·

5+ years of experience in lean manufacturing methods and Process Improvement processes.·

Experience in the manufacturing organization (work preparation, time scheduling, FMEA, assembly and process technology, production resource design and build, and facility planning.)
This position requires up to 10% travel; some of which will be International.
