Cnc Machinist

From drawings of varying degrees of complexity, sets up and operates at least one of the following types of machines such turret lathes, boring mills, mills, engine lathes, vertical lathes, drill presses, etc.; operates and makes program offsets on at least one of the following machines C.N.C. lathes, C.N.C. horizontal machine centers, C.N.C. vertical machine centers, C.N.C. boring mills, C.N.C. and vertical machines: performs hand operations such as filing, fitting, tapping, etc., as needed; machine parts from a variety of materials; performs all technical duties with anticipated supervision supervision.

DUTIES:

1. Maintains equipment in good working order through preventive maintenance and minor repairs.

2. Read and comprehend engineering drawings, specifications, blueprints, and work instructions.

3. Uses shop math performing geometric and trigonometric functions required for set up and part lay out.

4. Sets up and operates at least one but no more than three of the following machines turret and engine lathes, boring mills, mills, grinders, drill presses, radial drills and vertical lathes, etc.

5. Operates at least one but no more than three of the following machines C.N.C. lathes, C.N.C. horizontal machine centers, C.N.C. vertical machine centers, C.N.C. boring mills, C.N.C. and vertical machines.

6. Can edit and make offsets in C.N.C. machine programs.

7. Machines cast iron, stainless steel, cold and hot rolled steel, aluminum, plastic, bronze, monel, and other materials as specified.

8. Maintains specified tolerances using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments and gauging equipment.

9. Refers to Machinist Handbook for information as needed.

10. Sharpens and maintains tooling as necessary.

11. Performs machining operations within management-established quality and quantity standards.
