ClearVision Optical is seeking an innovative and hands-on Head of Technology.  Serving as a member of the management team, this creative leader will oversee the team responsible for all Information Technology areas (infrastructure architecture, security, networking and communications, information systems, database management and data warehousing, help desk support, and software/web development).  S/He will also provide the vision and leadership of the company’s information technology systems by recommending strategies, priorities, projects and policies that advance our ability to deliver for our customers (eye care professionals).
 
This role requires a leader with a proven track record of elevating technology to create a strategic advantage. Candidates must have existing people management experience, strong analytical skills, and a drive for process improvement and progress. The ideal candidate will have successfully developed a high performing team in pursuit of outstanding customer service, revenue creation and operational efficiency. We are seeking a candidate who is an action-oriented problem solver.  Experience in managing large scale IT implementations across business departments is preferred.  We are looking for someone who has a passion for helping us advance technology & innovation in the optical industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Fully leverage ClearVision Optical’s investment in technology & sustain a stable computing environment that is supportive of business needs.
Research and make recommendations on hardware, software, and web-service purchases.  Negotiate with vendors on behalf of the company.
Facilitate operational efficiency throughout the organization by ensuring knowledgeable user group – internal and external.
Ensure the consistency, maintainability & reliability of existing applications by creating, maintaining & enforcing documentation of standards & procedures to prevent system failures.
Design, develop and maintain all information systems to ensure delivery of outstanding customer service.  Users include internal and external employees, customers and vendors.
Budgeting responsibility, including implement strategies for cost savings.
Ensure compliance and partnership with all IT contracts and software licensing.
Projects, as assigned.
 
Through innovation, create a strategic advantage in the marketplace.
Provide business intelligence to decision makers.
Partner with management colleagues to address customer challenges, innovate processes, and develop business opportunities.
Interact with user community (including customers and vendors) and analyze complex business needs they present and develop and explain recommend technical solutions.  Survey often and follow-up on feedback.
Develop strategic plans, identifying technology applications to support business plans or create new strategic options. 
Ensure the development and implementation of best practices for all aspects of service delivery.
Conduct ongoing research and networking actively to harness timely knowledge of developments in software, systems, hardware, and web applications to ensure new ideas are considered in future decisions.  Encourage sharing of tech news within the IT team and the company.
 
Lead a high-performing Technology team, including hiring, coaching, training, and motivating to maximize potential and retain top talent.
Strategically evaluate resources to identify career development opportunities, optimize staffing, and created greater process efficiencies.
Direct and prioritize company-wide projects; assign and communicate deliverables and timelines.
Empower the IT team to deliver the ultimate customer experience throughout the organization.
Guide employees to manage multiple complex projects, while providing daily technology support.
Attend and participate in regular management meetings and communicate the appropriate information to the team.
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 
Education & Experience:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or other business technology related major.
Existing experience of 8+ years leading & innovating the entire IT function in a dynamic and growth oriented environment. 
Passionate about utilizing technology to create strategic advantage.
Experience partnering with business leaders to capture requirements; utilizing IT resources to solve business issues.
Driven by building and developing high performance teams; serving as a mentor & coach.
Expertise in managing large scale IT projects/implementations.
Skilled at leading the development and maintenance of applications for external based user groups.
Experience with web development technology required.
 
Skills: 
Possess an entrepreneurial spirit; positive attitude, quick learner; “flexible” in thinking and handling of responsibilities.
Ability to effectively communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience.
Passionate about developing and motivating IT talent.
