Sql Developer

At this time, I have a client in Northbrook that looking for a very hands-on candidate requiring a lot of SQL programming and scripting with important business Intelligence data. This is a rewarding and challenging position with an opportunity  or significant growth and learning and to have a very meaningful impact on the business as a whole.

In this position, you would be a member of the Analytics team, working closely with other reporting specialists and analysts, and also interact frequently with Marketing, Content, Web Features, and Operations departments.

The Reports Specialist will
* Write SQL and scripting solutions to challenging business intelligence problems
* Prepare large, complex data sets for analysis
* Participate in database design reviews and assist web developers with SQL needs
* Work directly with business stake-holders across many departments
* Be willing to become a go-to person for many levels of employees
Required Experience:
* 3+ years of full-time data or database related technical experience
* Programming experience, preferably on a Linux/Unix platform
* Significant use of SQL with large data sets
* Scripting with Bash, Perl, Python, PHP or other prevalent Linux/Unix scripting languages

Required Qualifications:
* Very detail oriented and analytical
* Capacity to learn quickly and become an expert at SQL, scripting, and business intelligence metrics
* Creative and determined in problem-solving and investigation
* Ability to communicate clearly with business stake-holders and technical team members

Required Education:
* Bachelors or higher degree in a technical/quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, etc.

Helpful Experience:
* Database design expertise
* MySQL database
* Analytics/statistics for business intelligence
* Familiarity with e-commerce data
* Having an interest in music gear
