Position : DevOPS/Platform Engineer
Location : Detroit, MI
Duration : Fulltime
 
SUMMARY:
Client is looking for experienced DevOPS professionals, responsible for making sure that our digital space is up at all times and performing at its peak. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, deploying and troubleshooting application stacks in support of our established retail operating environments.
 
Responsibilities:
Working closely with our Store, ESB, and Development teams to design our retail application stack for an enhanced digital presence, performance, and availability on both premise and cloud services.
Coming up with short & long-term solutions to make sure outages don’t repeat themselves.
Responsible for DevOps changes and rollouts, shepherding deployments.
Automating, Monitoring, Builds, Tests, Alerts, Dashboards, and Version control.
Developing configuration management templates, and auditing systems against them over the system lifecycle.
Quickly identifying issues with developers to provide smooth code rollouts and seamless change back-out when there are issues
 
Qualifications:
4 or more years of Windows or Linux systems administration experience
Experience with OS build standardization, systems hardening and virtualization.
Experience with modern configuration management tools
Has a basic knowledge of Networking fundamentals?
Expert in Scripting and Automation
Expert in high-availability and loadbalancing technologies
A strong team player
Excellent technical documentation and communications skills
An eye for exact details
Someone driven to get an “extra 9” of availability

Desired Skills:
Degree in computer related area or equivalent experience
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision; must be a self-motivated self-starter that can initiate ideas
Ability to learn new technologies or support existing applications quickly and with minimal guidance
Thrives on technical challenges and takes pride in solving them
Capable of following and composing process and procedure documentation, as well as training other users on complex topics
Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and doing things differently.
